Slowing Down In Taichung

When somebody says Taichung to you, what do you think of?
Hm. Suncake!
Do you want to make some yourself?
Yeah, lets go!
Already prepared for us are the parts that make up the cake and the filling so all we have to do is just put the first two balls of dough together, roll it out, roll it up, repeat and repeat. And there you have what will become the flaky outside. Then you add the sweet and slightly milky filling, wrap it up, flatten it and voila, there you have your suncake. In case youre wondering, the saying goes that the suncake was named after the bakery in Taichong that invented it.
What are you making?
Mickey Mouse!
And into the oven they go.
Oh my.
Your Taiwan is flooding.
Catastrophe in Kenting.
Your Mickey Mouse...
Oh...
Poor Mickeys fallen victim to suncake radiation.
It always tastes better when you make it yourself.
Its hot, its flaky and we made it ourselves. Oh its so good.
Downtown Taichung has some great places to walk around in, like the park in front of the National Museum of Fine Arts. Lots of trees, a few art installments and plenty of sun. Its no wonder people from Taipei like to move down here. Speaking of relaxing, what do you say we go for a massage, Sascha?
Feels like there is a marching band walking over my back. Oh this isnt too bad, this is comfortable.
Ah, ah. Ee, ee. He hates me. Ah ah ah ah...
Ah... I need a piece of wood to chew on.
Ah. Can you see Im sweating? This is torture. What do you want to know? Ill tell you everything. Ah.
Cant tell if hes enjoying this or not. If you want to play a prank on a good friend, this is one way to do it. Afterwards, they may even thank you.
This was my first time in Taichung and I had a wonderful day. I really loved it. Suncake is my favorite Chinese dessert and I learned how to make it and we ate them fresh out of the oven. That was amazing. I loved it. And after that the walk through the park was very nice, having the little snack and the tea and this was a really, really, really nice massage. Right now Im completely relaxed and at peace with the world. Great, great day.
