Diving in Green Island
Michella Jade Weng, Presenter:Hi, Im Michella and
this is my friend Sascha!
Even if it means staying up all night, you wont want
to miss the sunrise at Green Island. Its an amazing
sight and you can always go back to bed after you
see it.
Or you
can go snorkeling!
The fourth largest island of Taiwan, Green Island
used to be known as a place where political prisoners
were held in exile during the martial law period.
These days, its mainly a diving destination and
you can see why.
Partly
because of the coral reefs, many different types
of fish gather here. Anemonefish, damselfish, parrotfish,
trumpetfish and clownfish to name a few.
Sascha
Florian, German Expat:
It was amazing. We only went out 5 meters and it
was full of fish everywhere. Huge corals and they
were just all over us.
I dont
know about you Sascha, but Im ready for lunch.
What do you say to some nice seafood? No Nemo, I
promise.
You can
leave your diet plans in Taiwan, because the seafood
here is quite delicious. Fried flying fish, steamed
squid, fried egg with seaweed and fried octopus
rolls come highly recommended.

Jade Weng, Presenter:
What did you think of Green Island?
Sascha
Florian, German Expat:
Very refreshing and it definitely deserves the name.
Everything is green, covered with plants. Its very
nice.
Yeah,
and the sunset is also something else.
Michella
Jade Weng, Presenter:
Its beautiful, isnt it?
Sascha
Florian, German Expat:
Very nice. Perfect ending for a perfect day.
